Just returned from a 4 day Op and it was eventfull to say the least. In the first 2 days we were hit twice with IED's (155mm Arty shells). My vehicle was hit the first time courtesy of a pressure plate in the road (we are the point vehicle), second one was hard wired and the trigger guy picked out a vehicle in the rear of our group. We were only rolling 5 vehicles deep, luckily none of our gunners were hurt in the blasts. The tan humvee (first 2 pictures) is my vehicle... The green vehicle is the contact vehicle which is the second to last vehicle in our group of 5. The pictures are below:
We definitely lost half our hood... Somebody from one of our other vehicles has pictures of the craters these bombs opened up in the ground, I'll upload those once i get some more time. I leave again tonight, not much down time.... So i'll talk to you all soon. Drink lots of beer.
